I am a board certified psychiatrist with 17 years of clinical experience helping adults from all walks of life. I completed my psychiatry residency at Brown University in Providence, RI where I learned the art and science of psychiatry.
For the past 15 years, I have been working as a traveling locum tenens psychiatrist in different US states seeing patients in inpatient and outpatient settings in both private and government sectors.
I have successfully treated patients from various cultural and geographic backgrounds. I help people with medications if needed and supportive psychotherapy.
I believe the treatment plan should be tailor-made for each individual after a collaborative discussion between the doctor and the patient.
There are a lot of therapeutic styles out there. My therapeutic style is eclectic, practical , non-judgmental and direct to the point.
My ultimate goal is for you to be happy, independent and resilient and not to be dependent on the psychiatrist.

I’m here to listen and provide a safe place for you to talk about what’s on your mind. We can discuss the topics that you want to address, such as reducing your anxiety, feeling more relaxed, and making positive changes in your life. The therapy process is about taking steps towards personal growth and change. We’ll come up with some goals for you to work towards.
I have a few niche areas of specialty – anxiety, stress management, moderate depression, and relationships. Since the beginning of 2016, I've been working in out-patient, private practice. I specialize in helping adult clients (ages 20+) with issues regarding inner criticism, building confidence, reducing anxiety, and increasing self-care. Pertaining to relationships, I help people learn about creating healthy boundaries and interpersonal effectiveness. This can be applied to anyone you interact with (your partner, your family, those you work with, etc).
I graduated in 2002 with a Masters degree in counseling. Since then I've worked for a few universities and also as a contractor with military personnel and their families. I have a strong appreciation for evidence based interventions. This includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and some basic dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). The interventions we'll use are determined by the issues you present. If appropriate, we can also talk about using mindfulness and body-based techniques which can bring your awareness to the present moment and potentially make you feel calmer.

It can improve social skills, relationships, work performance, motivation, and overall life satisfaction.
Let’s explore your issues together in a safe, non judgmental, accepting environment. Where you can learn new ways of coping, get emotional support, and thrive!
